In the NZ Herald App, you will be able to choose to subscribe to either NZ Herald Premium, Viva Premium or Listener Premium at a monthly or annual rate.
A subscription can be purchased through an article or via the For You section of the App.
Managing your subscription purchased in the App
Once a subscription has been purchased, in the For You section you will observe the option to Manage Your Subscription.
Clicking on this option will direct you through to the Apple Store or Google Play store depending on your device, where you will have the option to cancel your subscription if needed.
Subscriptions can also be managed directly from the Google Play and Apple App stores.
Creating an account and signing in the App
Reading premium content with a subscription purchased in the app does not require you to register an account, and then sign in.
However, this does bring additional benefits of being able to comment on articles, save stories and view offline later in the app, and view your premium entitlement on our website and other devices.
Automatically linking your account to your subscription
After purchasing a subscription and then creating an account, we will automatically link your in-app subscription to your NZ Herald account.
This will then enable you to sign in and view your premium content on the NZ Herald website, and when using the NZ Herald App on a different device for example a family ipad.
Viewing your subscription on the NZ Herald App if purchased on the website
In the same way, if you had created an account and subscribed to premium on our website first, you would then be able to use this email account and password to sign in to the NZ Herald app on any android or iphone and view your premium content.
Change of email address in the NZ Herald App
If you choose to change your email address, this will automatically update your subscription entitlements to your new email address, and you would then need to use this new email address when logging onto the website or a different device.
