What is today’s paper? (e-editions)

E-editions are the digital versions of our newspapers and magazines. They are part of a Premium subscription, which means that as a subscriber you can read your preferred publication online in its true printed format on any device, any time and from anywhere in the world.

To access e-editions, follow the simple steps below.

On the desktop or mobile browser:

1. Access nzherald.co.nz and sign in with your Herald Premium email and password

2. Go to the “Today’s Papers” section (underneath your name on the top right menu)

3. Click on that and you’ll see the e-editions displayed on your screen. Then click on the e-edition publication you want to read

In the NZH app:

1. Access the NZH app (or download and install if you haven’t yet) and sign in with your Herald Premium email and password

2. Go to “For you” (bottom right corner if the app menu)

3. Tap on “Today’s Papers” link and select the publication you want to read


Features that improve your reading experience

Our e-editions allow you to adjust how pages are displayed, have a search tool, a menu with a full list of options and sections, and more. If you access them on NZH App, they are touchscreen friendly.

Along with the NZ Herald, you will also have access to the e-editions of all our publications: weekend, regional and community papers, and our first-class magazines Travel, Canvas, Viva, and Reset.

Today’s papers and magazines available to read

NZ Herald, Weekend Herald, Herald on Sunday, The Northern Advocate, Bay of Plenty Times, Rotorua Daily Post, Hawke’s Bay Today, The Gisborne Herald, Whanganui Chronicle and The Northland Age today’s papers (e-editions) and the NZ Herald Magazines (Travel, Viva, Canvas and Reset) are available to all Herald Premium subscribers. It means you can read the newspapers in it’s true format on your desktop, tablet or mobile phone at any time, from anywhere in the world.

Five-, six- or seven-day subscribers to the Herald’s print editions, or our regional newspapers, are entitled to digital access to Herald Premium; just go to nzherald.co.nz/activate to activate your Herald Premium subscription.

Viva Premium subscribers can access the online version of the printed Viva newspaper that features on a Wednesday weekly to enjoy all the stories, photos and features that our readers love.

Digital listener.co.nz subscribers get access to Listener e‑editions, a digital replica of the weekly New Zealand Listener magazine and an immersive way to enjoy our print publication.

Community newspapers e-editions are available to all nzherald.co.nz registered users for free. To access, simply register here for free, sign in with your email and password, and you will be able to read the e-editions of Waikato Herald, Te Awamutu Courier, HC Post, Katikati Advertiser, Te Puke Times, Taupo & Turangi Herald, Napier Courier, CHB Mail, Hastings Leader, Bush Telegraph, Stratford Press, Horowhenua Chronicle, Manawatu Guardian, Whanganui Midweek and Kapiti News.
