Hastings Schools in lock down.

Some Hastings schools were placed in lock down as an armed man took refuge at a block of flats near Hastings Central School. It is understood that the man earlier robbed Magpies Sportsbar and TAB in Hastings. After just over three hours the man was arrested by armed Police.

A farm near Hastings replaced their M.bovis affected stock that was taken from the farm late last year. Mycoplasma bovis is a bacterium that causes illness in cattle, including udder infections (mastitis), abortion, pneumonia and arthritis. It does not infect humans and presents no food safety risk.

Rob Townshend, dealer principal for Bayswater European Napier, hosts at the opening of his European car showroom a very rare Jaguar XKSS owned by the Giltrap Group Auckland. In 1957, 9 XKSS cars for export to North America were destroyed in a fire at Jaguar’s Browns Lane factory. 16 of 25 XKSS cars were built - this is one of the nine that rose from the fire.
