An Air NZ flight leaving Napier heading to Auckland turned back after a few minutes in the air. Flight NZ5018 left Napier 3.20pm and soon after the propeller stopped and flames were seen coming out of the left hand engine. It returned safely to Napier.

Caitlyn Thomas of Iona College is the winner of Hastings Council’s amazing China face race competition. As her prize she will travel to China to promote Hawke's Bay. She says before the competition she didn't know much about China but is looking forward to experiencing a different culture.
