More than 340 people have registered for the fourth annual Country to Coast fun run this Sunday as participants gear up to run for the 15km coastal walking and cycling track from Clive, through Haumoana and finishing at Clifton.
The non-competitive family fun event uses the Rotary Pathways between Farndon Park in Clive and the Clifton Bay Cafe. Participants have the choice of entering a 7km or 15km walk or run.
A new event has been entered this year, The Clive to Clifton Dash, a competitive event for runners only with a trophy awarded to the winner.
Special Projects Team Leader with Sport Hawke's Bay Jeanette Cooper said she expected numbers to increase this week because historically people usually registered at the last minute. "Well I believe that things are tracking really well with last year's numbers."
"Currently we have approximately 340 registered with about 120 in the 7km and the rest in the 15km. Out of those in the 15km only 17 are doing the dash so far," she said.
