Magpies winger Zac Guildford has been ruled out of contention for the All Blacks Rugby World Cup quarter-final against Argentina at Eden Park on Sunday night.
It was announced this morning that the four-try hero of last Sunday's 79-15 victory over Canada has a hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old was not expected to be named in the squad, with Richard Kahui and Cory Jane likely to have recovered from the injuries they received in the clash with France nearly a fortnight ago.
Following the Canada match, All Blacks head coach Graham Henry said Magpies fullback Israel Dagg's bruised leg was not expected to stop him from being available for selection.
All Blacks assistant coach Steve Hansen this morning allayed fears captain Richie McCaw will miss any more World Cup games because of his foot injury, saying he will play out the remainder of New Zealand's involvement in the tournament. McCaw was a late withdrawal from the World Cup clashes with Japan and Canada, and has been struggling with a foot injury for much of 2011.
