The two-day New Zealand Edible Garden Show opens tomorrow at Hawke's Bay Showgrounds. Held in Waikoko Gardens, separate from the Hawke's Bay Show, it features expert demonstrations and workshops covering food, gardening, animals and landscape design.

Pictured at the official launch are Laura Faire, Julie Biuso, Lynda Hallinan and celebrity gardener Ruud Kleinpaste.

"Edible gardens and sustainability go hand in hand," Mr Kleinpaste said.

Hawke's Bay A & P Society business development manager Hillary Riches said the family event, with more than 50 exhibitors, was unprecedented in New Zealand and was expected to grow steadily.
