Local Speech and Drama officials are congratulating their students after Hawke's Bay cleaned up in the national exams.
The young Bay orators took away four of the 11 scholarships available nationwide after the 2010 results were released.
Stella McMullen, Olivia Glazebrook, Rose Mickleson and Rosanagh Kynoch all achieved top marks in their respective grades - earning them each scholarships and the praise of officials.
Speech New Zealand chair Pam Logan said all the students were dynamic communicators whose oratory skills will take them far in their chosen fields.
"The confidence and clarity that is gained from Speech and Drama and Public Speaking training is an invaluable asset given the high value placed on good communication skills in today's workplace," she said.
Three of the students were still at high schools in Hawke's Bay while Rosanagh, an ex-Woodford House pupil and winner of the esteemed Founders' Scholarship for Public Speaking and Communication, was now studying at Victoria University.
Year 13 student Olivia and Year 12 Rose are both current students at Woodford House, where Olivia is the head girl for 2010. Stella attends Napier Girls' High School as a Year 13 student and the drama prefect.
Woodford House principal Jackie Barron said the school was incredibly proud of the results and also indebted to Speech New Zealand.
"Our girls from Year 7 to Year 13 are heavily involved in speech and drama ... and it is a big part of Woodford.
"We are very fortunate to have two very strong teachers and our girls get great experience from it which benefits us through performances, speaking at assembly and things like that," she said.
