A shopkeeper was left shaken after she was robbed at knifepoint in a Hastings dairy yesterday afternoon.
The woman was the sole worker inside the Zodiac Dairy on Hastings' Jellicoe Street when two people entered the store at about 3pm. One of the pair was armed with a knife.
Hastings Police Senior Sergeant Greg Brown said the pair demanded cash and cigarettes, before the woman handed over a sum of money believed to be about $200.
After also taking some cigarettes, the pair left on foot, but were seen going into an address close to the dairy.
Within an hour, police searched the property and arrested a 25-year-old man and charged him with aggravated robbery.
The cigarettes were recovered, and police were continuing inquiries to find the other alleged offender and the missing money.
