A woman was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash that closed a busy Hastings road yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Henderson Rd in Woolwich about 9.40am, where a car and van had a head-on collision.
A police spokesperson said St John ambulance transported two people to hospital. Other occupants of the vehicles were believed to have minor injuries, including cuts and bruises.
A Hawke's Bay District Health Board spokeswoman said two people had been treated at Hawke's Bay Hospital.
As of last night a woman in her 50s was in a critical condition in the hospital's intensive care unit. A man in his 40s was discharged yesterday afternoon.
