A Napier Woman has appeared in court charged with manslaughter following a road smash last year that claimed the life of Hawke's Bay kindergarten teacher Pam McGarva.
Ms McGarva, 55, died 11 days after a two-vehicle collision on Prebensen Drive in Napier on July 9 last year.
Today 25-year-old Lyree Anne Sayers, of Puketapu, appeared in Napier District Court on a charge of manslaughter in relation to Ms McGarva's death.
Judge Tony Adeane remanded her on bail to appear in the High Court in Napier on March 30.
She did not enter a plea and her lawyer, Eric Forster, did not seek name suppression.
Ms McGarva was part of the Napier Kindergarten Association for 12 years and taught at Carlyle Kindergarten for eight years.
