CRIME SCENE: A woman was abducted and assaulted by tow men in Havelock North on Saturday night. PHOTO FILE

Police are hunting two men after an assault on a woman in Havelock North.

Between 10pm on Saturday 9 April and 3am on Sunday 10 April the female victim was in the Havelock North CBD area. She was heavily intoxicated and became separated from her friends.

Two dark-skinned males in a light coloured sedan, possibly a Holden or Ford with a spoiler, picked up the female and drove her to the Ngaruroro River access at Ormond Road where they assaulted her. The males are believed to be in their early 20s and believed to be Indian.

The victim has long blonde straight hair and was wearing a print dress, black cropped leather jacket, black tights and boots. Items belonging to the victim, including a cell phone and keys, were found by a member of the public in Havelock North. Police need to speak to this person.

Police are also appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the victim on Saturday night in the Havelock North area. Anyone with information should contact Det Const Kaye Hyde at Hawke's Bay Police on 831 0700 or information can be left anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
