A regular lotto customer of Clive Four Square knew he had won a prize this morning, but wasn't aware he had shared the $8 million prize in last night's draw with three ticket holders from around the country.
Shop owner Hong Zhang said the man who held the winning ticket, which netted him $2 million, had already been in this morning on his way to work to fill in the documentation to claim his prize.
"He knew he was a winner - he just didn't know that he had won big," she said.
A lotto player for many years he had also won a minor prize last year, she added.
Clive Four Square has had success in the past with second and third division tickets sold there on February 28 this year.
