"Then on Thursday, there is just an odd shower left around and light southwesterlies and again on Friday. So essentially, today won't be so bad but then we have some changeable weather coming through for the early part of the week and then improving again later in the week."
Temperatures were expected to reach a high of 15C today before cooling off on Tuesday, with the strong westerlies pushing temperatures down to a high of just 12C.
"Wednesday and Thursday are both looking at around 14C. So, the average daytime high temperature in June for Hawke's Bay is 14.4C so it's pretty average."
The MetService's 10-day forecast also show it will be even colder south of Hastings, with temperature in Dannevirke expected to reachjust 7C on Tuesday, with temperature for the rest of the week only expected to reach a high of 10C.
