The looming general election means we have had almost three years of a John Key-led Government - and what policies, pray tell, has he implemented to create jobs for Kiwis on our still-long dole queues?
Clearly, he has not introduced even one targeted significant job-creation policy initiative in the three years his Government has been in power, and will New Zealanders still support such a prime minister and his associated political party?
Perhaps Kiwis will vote for John Key's National Party for a second term, but that would simply be like the kind of vote taken in a Miss World, or a Miss Universe competition.
Certainly, those that take part in a Miss World, or Miss Universe, competition are very intelligent - but there are also no "ugly" intelligent women that take part in those kinds of competitions either.
If John Key does get in for a second term as PM, it will only be because of his good looks and charm; it will not be because of his job-creation abilities.
Everyone should brace themselves for another bout of beneficiary bashing.Sandor BiczoNapierDon't blame the PMIn reply to Pete Carver (9/5/2011).
You sure seem to be on one track about the Government and John Key
Why do people come in to pick fruit etc? It is because there are not those who will put in a good day's work here. The unemployed do not want to work and with a four-term year for schools, those who have been there feel that every 10 weeks they must have a holiday.
Why not go back to three-term years, pubs closing at reasonable hours (not 4am or 5am say 10pm), no Saturday or Sunday shop opening, so sports etc can be played by more, and also giving family time where gardening etc can be done, compulsory military training (in Switzerland people are in the army until age 40 and have to go to camp each year for, I think, one week).
It is the past New Zealanders who have let us grow into a soft society where all should be supplied to us and we can do what we want and, if not, the Government will provide for us. If people go to university there is no guarantee of a job at the end and why should there be? Why should a former Bridgecorp director be eligible for legal aid?
Sure, John Key is the prime minister, but he only leads the country and should not be blamed for all the bad things we have allowed to happen over the years.
