Heavy rain may be approaching Hawke's Bay and the Metservice has put the region on weather watch.
Sporadic heavy rainfall was experienced by many today, and there is dim hope of it improving.
Hawke's Bay remains on a weather watch from 9pm today until 11am tomorrow. Metservice has predicted periods of heavy rain with accumulations possibly approaching warning criteria, 70 to 80mm in 14 hours.
Meteorologist Claire Flynn said the good news was that the temperatures weren't going to be as bitter as last week.
Temperatures will be between 13C and 17C over the next week despite a south-westerly change.
