Hawke's Bay's autumn weather is set to be warm but wet this weekend as a complex low hits the top of the country.
The frontal rain band in the north Tasman Sea will move onto the north of the North Island this morning bringing rain and strengthening northeasterly winds to Northland and Auckland.
Hawke's Bay will escape this but get a taste of the wet as showers are forecast from this afternoon.
MetService meteorologist Doug Mason said today would be mainly cloudy with some light scattered rain in the afternoon.
Tomorrow will be worse, with showers and northeasterlies, but the severe weather forecast for further north is not expected to reach Hawke's Bay.
