The victim of a crash south of Waipawa is recovering in hospital in Wellington.
The woman, in her early 20s, was involved in a crash south of Waipawa on Monday, about 7.40am.
She was originally transferred to Hawke's Bay Hospital, but was later in the day taken to Wellington in
a critical condition.
Her condition had improved on Tuesday morning, and she was now in a serious condition in Wellington.
It was the fifth serious crash in Hawke's Bay in five days.
