Argento Bianco Nero is Hawke's Bay designer Jennie Page's nod to Italy - an elegant dress and mask combination inspired by Venice Carnival.
The incredible creation won both Cake Stuff Adult Designer and Hastings Pak'nSave Designer of the Year categories at Saturday's Hastings Pak'nSave Edible Fashion Awards evening.
It took Ms Page four months to gather materials for the detailed outfit and a further two to make it. The body is foil chip packaging fused together using an iron, while frills and other detail on the hat, skirt, bodice and necklace were whipped up from a myriad of items found in the kitchen cupboard, including coffee filters, shopping bags, tapioca pearls, poppy seeds and mint imperials.
A beautiful venetian mask was covered in cake fondant to give it an edible edge. There were countless sleepless nights thinking about how to improve the design but Ms Page's inspiration remained the same.
"I really want to go to the Venice Carnival, it's on my bucket list," she said. "I have always wanted to make a costume like this but never had the format to go crazy with it."
