A free cultural and music festival which was held in Napier every December for 13 years is being revived next weekend after a break of more than a decade.
The three-day U, Me, Peace, last held in 2003, will be held on the Maraenui Shopping Centre reserve, starting on Friday and finishing on Sunday.
It will offer free music and other entertainment, but it also promises to be free of alcohol, drugs and smoking, with a particular focus on young people and family wellbeing.
The festival will open on Friday afternoon with school kapa haka performances and end on the Sunday with Carols by Candlelight.
In between will be a range of performances by bands, including now popular reggae outfit Rude Boyz, a gathering of experienced musicians with strong links to the area.
