Two hospitality outlets have been confirmed for Havelock North's newest commercial development on Joll Rd.
Piku and Firsthand Coffee are the first to confirm their move to the new development site once completed in early July.
Owner of Piku Ben Harper says the new space will make a huge differenceto the future of his restaurant and help grow especially in the new location.
"The location will be great for the lunchtime rush as well as having much more room for a bigger restaurant and sushi bar, which is all very exciting," Harper said.
"Our site at the Red Barrel has been great but for us we felt it was time to move on to bigger and better things."
"It's really just a good opportunity to move and be able to grow in a bigger and better space," Borrie said.
"We might also look at setting up a little espresso bar and a little retail shop for the general public, but our main focus is on the coffee."
The development is being carried out by Murrayfield Properties Ltd, owned by Jonathan and Cristina McHardy's family trust, and is one of the village's largest commercial developments in more than a decade.
Trust spokesman Warren Ladbrook said that all four hospitality units and five office spaces available in Stage One had been taken.
Ladbrook also confirmed that the project was on schedule to finish by July when Stage Two of the project will start.
Pipi Café owner Alexandra Tylee says that once the building is open it will be a massive benefit to other businesses as well as the community.
"The new development is great for the area, having what looks to be a beautiful building will help to bring a lot of good business into the centre of town."
