A seal-widening programme on State Highway 2 at Whirinaki and the installation of a new right-turn bay will lead to slight delays for motorists this week.
The work is being done at the intersection of SH2 and North Shore Rd and speed restrictions and stop/go signalling are in place.
The work is one of several projects being carried out by New Zealand Transport Agency contract crews on SH2 north of Napier and people travelling the stretch are asked to be aware and to stick to speed restrictions.
An annual water-blasting programme of some sections as well as road marking at sites between Morere and Wairoa are being worked on and slight delays are likely.
"Please be patient when passing these vehicles as they move slowly when carrying out these tasks," an NZTA spokesperson said.
