Motorists using State Highway 2 north of Napier and SH5 through to Taupo can expect some minor delays as forest contracting crews begin felling trees near the roadways.
Tree felling is under way in the Tutira region of SH2 and off Rukumoana Rd near Te Pohue on the Napier-Taupo Rd.
A New Zealand Transport Agency spokesman said temporary speed restrictions were in place and there would be times when stop-go signalling would be in place.
Expected impacts on travel time could be up to five minutes.
Speed restrictions and signalling can also be expected on sections of SH5 between Tarawera and Eskdale as slip removal work continues.
