Seven top Kiwi musicians are in Hawke's Bay for a night of songs tonight.
The inaugural Waiata Mai concert, which will be held at Black Barn Amphitheatre, brings together Dave Dobbyn, Anika Moa, Maisey Rika, Tami Neilson, Rob Ruha, Troy Kingi and Teeks to perform well-known hits and a few surprises from their Maori songbook.
Creative director Tama Waipara said he is excited to bring the seven musicians to one venue.
"All of these artists are incredibly talented but also very busy, so to be able to get them all together is really special.
"Most of them have been performing overseas, so this is a rare opportunity for New Zealanders to see them live – it's really a dream line-up."
