The culinary superstar brought down his head chef at The Sugar Club in Auckland, Neil Brazier, who was also great and has been booked in for his own event for this summer's FAWC, she said.
FAWC's second weekend of events had been successful with most events having sold out, Ms Dundas said.
There were still a few tickets left for next week's "Winter Spritz", "Pipi at Home, By the Fire" and "Deck the Halls", which would all be fabulous, so people needed to get in quick, she said.
Gordon, who was born in Whanganui, said he has been to Hawke's Bay many times over the past 15 years and has always loved it.
The variety of food, farms, wine, fruit and more in the region was amazing, he said.
He got lost when he arrived on Friday and thoroughly enjoyed seeing what was on offer.
Hawke's Bay residents were lucky because the region offered so many great food projects and places, he said.
"I think to live here as a foodie must be quite fabulous.
"Hawke's Bay is just waiting to have cool things happening here and lots already are."
On Friday night for dinner he had Bostock's chicken which was started by two brothers who wanted to have the best free range chickens in New Zealand, Gordon said.
They grew up on an orchard and now their chickens roam freely among apple trees all day.
Things like this were just amazing, he said.
He also loves the region for its aesthetic and enjoyed waking up to the grand Te Mata Peak and vineyards while staying at Craggy Range on Friday night.
"It's so beautiful here."
The Sugar Club chef has been impressed by FAWC and has always wanted to host an event but timing has been difficult.
Ms Dundas has pleaded for him to come each year but this is the first time scheduling has allowed it, he said.
"I do love FAWC, it's fantastic. I think it's brilliant."
The festival is a great way of showcasing the region's best food and wine and he hopes to be able to come back in the future.
Gordon not only loves Hawke's Bay but the entire country.
"I always love coming home to New Zealand, it just knocks my socks off every time I come here."
Flying from Auckland on Friday, he was able to see the "stunning" Mt Tongariro, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Ruapehu.
"New Zealand is always amazing."
He has been in the country for three weeks to visit family, come to FAWC and develop a new menu at The Sugar Club with Brazier.
