4. Over the Top by Amanda Jackson
Performed by Hawke's Bay Youth Theatre, this provides a theatrical insight into the lives of nine young people who enlisted (six soldiers and three nurses) and the stories of the families left behind. Commissioned by The Drama Workshop in 2015 for the commemoration of Gallipoli, the play is based on real people who resided in Napier in 1915. Today, 7pm to 8pm. 5. Munich Meets Meeanee
As part of Winter F.A.W.C! spend the afternoon at this Oktoberfest-inspired party, as the Old Church is transformed into a classic German bier hall. Food will be traditional Bierfest fare, including giant salty pretzels that complement the beer. Ticket includes a beer on arrival, two food tokens and live entertainment. Fancy dress optional. 6. R.E.A.L! Food
As part of F.A.W.C! owners Greg and Rachel Hart will share their passion for R.E.A.L. food and farming. Hawke's Bay's own My Kitchen Rules duo Henry and Monique Heke will be preparing a delicious dinner featuring Mangarara lamb racks, while Lime Rock Wines vit-ecologist Rodger Tynan will share his wine and ecology knowledge. Ticket price includes tea and coffee on arrival, a farm tour with an explanation of regenerative agriculture, canapés, lamb dinner, dessert and Lime Rock wine, Brave beer and whisky (not local).
