*  I agree groceries are too dear. They moan about NZers getting obese yet junk food is cheaper than fruit and vege. Why don't they put food prices down so people can afford to eat healthy? Courtney
*  How many people have had a phone call with no one on the
line for 30 seconds then a little female voice says goodnight. I know of several elderly people who have had a number of these calls. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about but how can they be stopped?
*  Great editorial by Grant Harding about Peter Barnes. He was a baking legend throughout NZ. He would clean up at pie champs. Deserves big story.
*  To the two women who stole my umbrella from the supermarket trolley and drove off in car, I hope you are feeling guilty and maybe I will see you using it one day.
*  The Rugby World Cup excitement is starting to build up. By the time the election gets here everyone will be on a high. Cunning strategy John Key.
*  All this talk of amalgamation should be seen for what it really is. A ploy to divert attention from other matters of grave concern. JS
*  Re Bay thief jailed for 42 days - why do we keep waiving thousands of dollars worth of fines? We should reduce any future benefits or pursue through IRD until they are paid - until death if need be. Not fair on rest of us!
*  42 days inside for recidivist scumbag on front page, what a joke. Save taxpayers some money and let him go.
*  Can anyone please explain how the mediocrity of rugby can justify calling players heroes. What indeed is heroic about running around on grass? DJR.
*  The new cycle lanes are a fantastic investment and will bring long term benefit to the region.
*  What's with the darker unnaturally pinky coloured eggs that only the mere peasants of this world like myself can afford? More chemicals no doubt.
