Rodeo

*    This country will always be cruel to animals. Rodeo is barbaric, so is horse racing of any description. Funny how mostly blokes think it's alright.

*    Ban rodeos, how can cruelty to animals be classed as sport. JR

*    Rodeo is not a fantastic family day out. It's a spectacle which promotes animal cruelty! Shame on those who sponsor and support these nasty events!

Ocean Beach

*    My family and I were devastated to see that Ocean Beach is now under lock and key. What could have prompted this...or who? Was there any consultation? The happiness is draining from our beach days!

*    Here's an idea. Take the prisoners to Ocean Beach. Can keep them locked in as well.

*    After a huge week at work was looking forward to getting to beach only to find it was locked! How much does it cost the rate payers to keep it all secure?

*    I drive to gates at Ocean Beach, then ride my bike to beach. Ride bike back to car at 8 o'clock then drive home. Just because gates are shut does not stop me having a swim.

Other thoughts

*    To the young man who missed out on an apprenticeship because he bragged on his Facebook page about being a Party Boy: Ditch the girly FB and go to a firm that won't stalk you on social media.

*    To the person/s who took three kittens with mother cat from Ngarimu St last week, you have deeply distressed a 10yr old girl, bring them back, please.

*    Who is paying for free bike checks? Ripped off rate payers again?

*    Mr. Yule the flowers in Heretaunga St are beautiful. A credit to you and your team. Baza

*    Do you think or know - are our TV & radio personalities on paid leave all this time since before Xmas?

*    Tinnitus is usually caused by nicotine, caffeine, tiredness or stress. I cut out coffee for a couple of days and was cured. Now I limit the amount of caffeine I have and am fine.

*    I'm disgusted at the amount of drivers who toot to scare cyclists on the road thinking it's nothing but a game. We are meant to share the road, not be scared off it.

*    Couldn't believe Anglican church would sell St Clare's to Age Concern knowing repairs needed. The roof leaks and walls not weather proofed has been known about for years.

*    Protest Hastings! Every ratepayer in Hastings should withhold from paying their rates for three months as a protest towards our money hungry council wanting to waste further millions, ie $8.5mil, on Civic Square and God knows what else.

*    Re Mcdonald's rubbish: The only people who will drop rubbish in Havelock will be your own kids, just like your own kids who damage letterboxs on the way home. No respect.

*    Yes definitely bring back the death penalty for serious crime.

*    To Tim, Ocean Spa. Great fitness consultant. Your knowledge, encouragement and commitment has changed lives! You've been a great asset and will be missed. All the best in new profession.

*    Why don't they push all the gorge slip rubble over the side and make it a four lane highway? Save money and it will improve the flow of traffic in the future.

*    How hypocritical that as a civilisation we are led to believe that space is being searched for evidence of ET existence when our own military released thousands of documents to the contrary not to mention the millions of worldwide past and present sightings. Even evidence of their contact with world Governments exists. Rather than admit the truth the establishment has maintained false beliefs.

*    To the person who picked up my sunglasses at Napier airport thanks for handing them in.

*    Totally agree that Clive Square should be the new bus stop. Not only is it an attractive area with facilities that can be seen as travellers get off the bus but it would also bring back foot traffic to that end of town. There's also ample parking within a block's radius. C'mon Napier City Council start listening to your ratepayers! JSC, Napier and proud!

*    Hello texters me again. Gum problem solved but does any one know how to kill white fly? They are killing my vege garden. GLB

*    Thanks to Tamatea Pack'nSave for letting us use their area for a sausage sizzle fundraiser for our netball team.

*    In Australia they have a law which makes it illegal to smoke cigarettes in a car with a child under 18. What a good law, one New Zealand could do with as well. JHW

*    What a nice photo of Alan sitting in his canoe...thank goodness he wasn't standing!
