Zac Guildford

*   Good luck Zac, I'd be pleased to have you for a grandson. You are a nice lad.

*   I feel sorry for Zac and drinking issue. Salvage what you can Zac and give it your best shot with the All Blacks.

*   Why did the NZRU put Zac Guildford in front of the Nation and confess to having a drinking problem? It's not like he went outside of the boundaries of the hotel they were staying to get drunk or smash any windows, poor young man was lynched - booo hooo to the NZRU.

*   Zac needs to get help now for his drinking problem before it ruins his life. AM

*   NZ has a known binge drinking culture and I blame the Government for that. They are the ones who relaxed the laws and they are the ones who profit. Zac is no different to many of our guys both young and old. He's young, he made a mistake and he's learned the hard way. Now leave him alone to get on with it. HB is still very proud of you Zac.

*   Guildford doesn't deserve to be in the ABs, he has no respect for the jersey.

*   Stop spending NZ rugby funds on an All Black who new the rules. We are not talking about other 22 year olds. Guildford has a drink problem stop babying him. CLR

New hotel

*   Just reading about the new hotel (s) in Hastings. Not sure where the night life and restaurants are. Interesting to see where the ongoing demand is.

*   I was dismayed to see the front page pic of the'boutique' hotel proposed for Hastings.'Office block' would be a more apt description.

Male shopper

 *   Re male shopper: I agree with you, female shoppers are the worst. We men go straight to the chiller and get what we need, go straight to checkout and women stand in the aisle idle. And we won't mention their parking!

*   Ah the quick efficient male shopper, often seen as rude, pushy and ignorant, maybe recently retired, shame you are so quick, it doesn't give your wife a break! Vive la difference, shopping is not a competition, relax and smell the coffee, aisle. J D.

*   To the quick and efficient shopper. Good on you. Alternate shopping day for males and females should be the go.

*   That male husband grocery shopper ... what a laugh! Maybe we could have girls only day at Mega store so we don't get held up by all the dreamers in the aisles.

Other thoughts

*   Why is it school staff cars take up parks outside schools? Should this not be designated a safe drop off/pick up area for children.

*   Went to Blossom parade in Hastings was great. Good family outing apart from the Maori boy saying free our people. The stone age is gone and there is a time and place for things like that ... this was a day for kids.

*   It isn't so much sugar that makes kids bounce off the walls it's the food colouring. Can't beat home grown fruit and vege.

*   Well done to Waipuk organisers of running of the lambs - wonderful event. To all those who protested about this event you need to visit a sheep farm before you make townie judgements about animal welfare! Those sheep in great condition before and after event!

*   Lack of NZ National flags for RWC may be more to do with lack of supply rather than choice. Being held to ransom by those wanting flag change.

*   Why do insurance premiums go up so much? Sure there was a Christchurch earthquake but what's happened to all those millions of dollars worth of insurance payments people make on a regular basis? Does someone rip them off? I'm fed up.

*   Pike River Co. disgraceful conduct to the families. What are they trying to hide! Bring them home.

*   Rooms at hotels go up, what about cleaners wages? Come on.

*   Great job to that dancing McDonald guy good stuff. He deserves a pay rise.

*   Rugby World Cup live to you free. TV 1 and Maori TV won viewing rights so all Kiwis could watch. We all got sucked in. What a joke.

*   Silly woman at the Havelock Recycling Depot, instead of parking 2 metres further along (you were still in your car when I tooted) where you could have saved everyone else from making a 3 point turn to also drop off their stuff you stubbornly refused. How petty!

*   Thumbs up to Hastings District Council phone staff, always so friendly and efficient. Especially Kirsty who goes the extra mile and has a heart. Thank you so much. Regan

*   Thumbs down for moving Alsco down to Palmy. Now more unemployed people on the dole queue. Mark, Bay View.
