*   People, stop breaking the law and then bleating about it when fined. Parking on broken yellow lines, why? Not putting money in meters, why?

*   Due to drugs, unprecedented price rises in food, power etc, burglaries are on the rise and yet the so called powers that be are considering closing Napier cop shop. How stupid is that?

*   Vegetation on footpath and HDC: Ever considered picking it up yourself?

*   Speed humps at The Warehouse and Mega 10, should have been designed much better than they are. I think the humps are to high and will do some damage. I for one hate going there now. I prefer to shop in Napier when I'm over that way. Sandy Bishop.

*   You know a good politician by his commitment to the people for he is there to serve them not to serve himself.

*   Maori party want Maori, Polynesians and Samoans to get pension at 60 and the rest at 65! Yeah Right. It's not our fault they don't look after their health. MJ

*   Well said Mark Carter, I couldn't agree with you more! Zac is only 22, he needs to be left alone to sort out any issues he may have. All the best!

*   Do buskers pay tax or are they thieving off workers' tax?

*   Good on you Hastings Pak'nSave your special Tuesday was indeed that. I saw a lot of happy mums and dads get real value for their money. Come on Government you have a turn. A Theodore

*   Westshore Beach a shambles. Council need to listen to Mr Dallimore and Mr Exeter and stop wasting ratepayers money on shingle. It's not working and is an eyesore. TC

*   Wyn Drabble: More articles please love your stories.

*   The person who has just returned from England should jump on the next plane back. Once there I would suggest walking around with eyes open as trust me they have poverty, unemployment and low wages too. By the way $15 is about £7.50. The exchange rate hasn't been $3 to the pound for many years. I came back from the UK last year after 12 years away and earn pretty much exactly the same money, spend pretty much the same on household bills and enjoy the quality of life and hours of sunshine. For me it is better here, if it's not for you then you presumably are familiar with the location of the airport.

*   I hope Breakers does not close down, lovely meals.

*   Read the article about IronMaori maiden Panu Te Whaiti. What an inspiration. You go girl. I don't even know you but I'm damn proud of you!

*   "Food prices shrank for a third month according to Government data." Codswalop! Tell that to my overdraft.

*   Regarding 2degrees cellphone tower in Taradale: Retailers worried about the look of it? Get real and start worrying about the health dangers of it!

*   Mr Yule, you are a hypocrite. Bunnings not to build on food growing land but sports arena ok! Best land in HB not exhausted as claimed.

*   I hope the 74-year-old who does not wear specs realises he is blessed. Few over seventies can say the same.

*   The front page of a NZ leading newspaper states Kiwis are poor drivers, inconsiderate behind the wheel and easily distracted and that most drivers need driver training! Is it little wonder cyclist are worried every time they ride the roads and that's not just the lycra brigade that's school kids, women, you name it they are the new targets on the road.

*   The councils are the problem with the building industry in Hawke's Bay. Need to process the permits faster, You are killing the Bay.

*   What are you moaning about doggie poo for? I am a dog owner and I have picked up filthy human rubbish at Anderson Park in Napier. Used condoms. Soiled baby naps. Dirty sanitary pads. Lazy filthy humans. Dogs must go to loo. Owners pick up the poo! Humans pick up your yukkys. BJB, Napier.

*   I would just like to thank the lovely man (and the people in line) at Stortford Lodge Post Shop (17/11/11) for letting me at the front of the line with a baby in my arms and a huge parcel. Was so thoughtful of him. I hope he has a wonderful Xmas!

*   To the window washer squirter at motorbikes: I will be carrying baby oil now. We will see how you like that on your windscreen! Just move over and let us through. It's that easy.

*   Why don't all the people present when a wee child is murdered get charged? This code of silence is Bulls - t. Bazza

*   Anonymous texter asks "Is it just me or does anyone else think bag man Steve Williams has too high an opinion of himself?" Probably just you, anonymous texter and others who mistakenly think a caddy is simply a golf trundler on legs instead of wheels. Many people can swing a 'mean' club but world class caddies who can tell them, effectively, which club to swing and how to swing it are few and far between. DBS

*   Re text about high poverty and obese kids: Hight calorie, sweet and unhealthy food cheaper to buy. These kids need milk, cheese and beef but they are getting out of reach for some families.
