*   Taupo Rd, windy part, cyclists riding two abreast outside white line, no inclination to move over for traffic.

*   To the cyclists whingers: We do pay to use the the roads, it's called rates and taxes. And do you also moan about having to slow down due to tractors, horse floats, sprayers and slow cars? Learn some patience! MC

*   Great big thank you to the very generous lady that gave me and my family free tickets to the Hawke's Bay Show while we were standing in line waiting to pay. JA.

*   I certainly agree. Why can't we have a free paddling pool on Marine Parade like we used to. Obviously free doesn't exist in council vocabulary. Someone should start a petition to start the process. It will also keep people away from swimming in the fountains because they can't afford to pay the high entry rates to public pools, including me! Michelle Frehner.

*   Heartily agree with Marine Parade bus terminal idea having just battled my way through people and luggage in Dalton Street. And the travellers deserve a nice place to rest and wait. What better place than our beautiful Marine Parade.

*   God forbid, but if Hastings and Napier do ever amalgamate then we could get two Hicksvilles for the price of one! Is Hastings debt really over sixty million dollars? Good grief!

*   Thanks to the new Tokai Restaurant on Russell St for well priced yet delicious Indian sweets and amazing service. They insist you try before you buy!

*   It was fantastic to see the special needs boy win 1 million dollars on Lotto's winning wheel. It made my day.
