* So Hastings in for an award for the cycle lanes. Well to the "lycra clad female cyclist" on Frederick St and Karamu Rd please use them. Footpaths are for feet! MB Mayfair.
* Just spent 5 weeks in Palmerston North Hospital and had fantastic meals. It's your fault if you choose vegan menu and remember it was free. Quit moaning.
* I spent six nights in Hawke's Bay Hospital over New Year and was so impressed by care received. Nurses amazing and care associates who brought meals. You made my stay a pleasant experience. Couldn't fault meals at all and very good selection to choose from. Thank you all so much for wonderful care received! BT Napier
* Ambulance charge not new. I had two in three days and was charged for both. However, I appreciate them being there and gladly paid. Am now a St Johns member.
* Should be 80km from Napier Airport to start of Bay View. MH
* Why not a McD's at Kmart complex, now looks like Muffs has gone, nothing much to eat in that area now.
* Has our judical system gone mad? Holly Harbour should simply have been jailed. Judge Geoff Rea had the opportunity to set an example and show people this will not be tolerated instead he chooses the wet bus ticket.
* The American woman living in Havelock convicted of drink driving should be deported, she was four times over the limit. It's a privilege to be allowed into NZ to live, we don't want reckless people like her! AF
* Poverty: No need for another committee. Offer free sterilisation with incentive like free flat screen TV and no benefit after first child - one mistake only.
* Re: Havelock North McD's: Come on people, be proud to have it in your town. If you don't want it built in Havelock North transport it to Wairoa. We would love to have McD's here. MW
* Alcohol: Some say a social drink is enough, work events, Friday night, a hot day. The majority consume excessive amounts. Usually it's the main cause of society's unlawful acts, eg drink driving, violence, littering, disruption to a sober household. It takes over and it seems no one ever notices. You'd think after knowing something was a poison one wouldn't consume such a thing. Wrong, drink 'till ya spewing the stuff up, get rid of the stuff, or keep it in your own household. CTW
* $2 billion wind farm failure: Another case of the ridiculous resource consent policies in this country and the goody goody greenies costings this country and businesses millions in extra costs and time and the failure of another beneficial project for NZ's growth and future.
* Thanks to the exceptional staff at Waipawa New World while we were on a wet holiday at the beach . Especially Jodie. Reminds me why it's called the Heartland. GB
* Napier is living in the 1930s. Havelock North is in the 1950s. When will Hawke's Bay accept we are in the 21st century?
* Does anyone know of a fish and chip shop in the Napier area that cooks in cholesterol free oil.
* Farndon Rd is the same with people speeding. We are in the new housing across from club rooms.
* Stop moaning about the cellphone towers. You hardly notice the thing unless it's on your front lawn. From a distance it looks like the Sky Tower or the wind wand. Take a look at the rubbish around town these days - that's an eyesore. MJB
* So the Government knew Mr Dotcom had a shady past. She's right mate - as long as you pay a handsome entry fee.
* We live in hope that Bishop Brian Tamaki is kidding us. Anne
* Thank you for printing my thank you to HBH and Napier district nurses for their recent care, however, I forgot to include my man! So please print my thanks to Douglas Robert White for his love and support through unexpected events - here's to new adventures and good times. VJH
* Why does Wattie's do nothing about noise coming from the factory tower after many complaints? Can't sleep for noise all the time.
* Hastings council is at again. First it was the St Aubyn green area $1-4 million. Then Civic Center $8-4m. Now it's the Opera House $1-5m and at the end of the summer we will be looking at paying for a blowout at Splash Planet. HDC should get out of running things for non profit.
