Lucy Lawless

*   Green Peace, Lucy Lawless. Great way to revive a defunct acting career. I assume she has never used fossil fuel.

Fracking

*   Hope anti-oil drilling people don't use cars as they use oil products.

*   Cannot believe anyone would be stupid enough to frack in the Bay given earthquake risk. Oh silly me, they are foreigners, they don't have to live here with consequences!

Cats

*   Our pets love us unconditionally no matter what. From them we have much to learn.

*   Best thing for a cat is a name tag and a small bell on the collar and keep inside over night. Very simple. Also one cat per house.

*   Yes DS we do have better things to do than whine about and clean up after, dam roaming cats! That's why people should keep their cats in their own backyard so we don't have to waste our time! It's so simple, yet beyond some people's mindset! Frustrating! W

*   I trap cats. I live 25 minutes out from you slack townies who dump your cats down the road. They are killers. At my place a dead cat is a good cat.

*   Re cat repellent: Tie rag to stick, douse white vinegar. Place in garden, use as many as need be.

*   To keep cats away throw moth balls in the garden

*   My cat always comes in at night - brought up that way.

*   Cats keep all the native birds and lizards away from my garden, not to mention they hunt my pet pigeons on my land! It's time these pests were banned!

Other thoughts

*   I'm new to gardening. When should I start planting my winter veges and what is easiest to grow?

*   For how long have Wrigleys been sponsoring the Black Caps?

*   Morris White you speak the truth. But you forgot to add to your list money for McLean Park and the upgrade of the Taihape Road that runs though Hastings District but road signs only mention Napier! We giveth and they taketh! J Oak

*   What is wrong with this country? Services, safety and therefor jobs are being cut yet unlike wages, prices are continually hiked up. Why should the people have to suffer.

*   Hi, it would be awesome if the council put more trees for shade and tables with seats along Pandora Road by the pond! It's an awesome place to go swimming, just missing some shade. Thanks. Boss M

*   To the lanky cyclist turning off Douglas McLean into Bedford Rd: If you value your life you should hand signal a right turn, not try to cut off a car that has bothered to signal and last, but not least, keep your finger to yourself. Have a nice day.

*   Here's an idea, why not turn the old Mega 10 into the new skate park for our kids? It's opposite the Atomic Centre. Also does anyone know what happens to the Bananas at Cornwall Park?

*   Why do we have to have CEOs? Prices have risen to pay for their exorbitant wages. What would one do with $1000,000-plus a year and that's every year. I find it hard to comprehend.

*   Re going digital: Better quality pictures, better quality sound, what about better quality content instead of the same old, same old. Keep TV 7.

*   Have we got a Hawks team? Sick of hearing about BB academy. I had to pay $3 to buy Hawks tickets at Pettigrew with cash!. What a rip off. The team better be worth it. JK

*   Re 15 to 19 year olds not being able to get work. Not fair too is people over 66 in fulltime work who also get paid super. Should be one or the other. That would help NZ.

*   A huge thank you to Rachel at the Napier Warehouse who, after a phone call, went outside the store to check the trolleys for my mother's wallet purse and found it, everything intact. It was Mum's 84th birthday! Thank you so much! Mark S, Napier

*   While I realise the Fantasy Cave in Dannevirke is run voluntarily the opening hours are inconvenient. 10am till 2pm will not suit most. Noon to 2pm is lunch hour. 1pm till 4pm would make more sense. Never found it open when passing through the town.

*   I enjoyed the Clive Market apart from those thoughtless people who take their dogs. Every owner thinks their lovable pooch won't attack a child. All it takes is for the dog to get a fright. Come on people, leave your dogs at home!

*   Tut tut Trevor Mallard. Already on $140k-plus per year and tried to outlaw ticket scalping in 2007. How much money do you need?

*   To the couple who live on Napier Hill and borrowed two syringes for injecting trees, please return as we need them. Thanks Sue.

*   I visited Hastings and Havelock North recently. Amazed to see so much street rubbish and dirty toilets. Not a good look.
