Text of the day:
Live music from the Art Deco era piped through CBD in Napier? Wot Ho! A simply spiffing idea! At least the songwriters and crooners could write and sing.
Takeaways in hospital
Re food at HB Hospital: A lot of patients can't eat hospital food because of culture. Jace
My
cancer kid was in hospital for weeks, unable to leave room. Got KFC etc sometimes as break from hospital food and so we could eat meal together. Hospital cafe meals sell out too early!
Other thoughts

So true Roger Moroney editorial last Saturday. When kids grow up they are not wrapped in cotton wool so have to learn to cope. Some struggle.
For pity's sake Hastings Mayor Yule, Guy Wellwood and others - stop trying to bludge off Napier. We don't want your desperate, idiotic amalgamation. Can't you take no for an answer graciously! Why on earth would Napier ratepayers want to fork out more to carry you lot?
How about a regular train between Wellington and HB. Even twice a week would do. I don't go down as much since train stopped. Miss that easy way to go. PR
So Aussie has increased its basic rate of pay to 25 bucks NZ per hour. Learn a Trade in NZ and get the hell out of this backward country that has low wages and a high cost of living. No incentive and future for a young family. Thanks to Hastings Spec Savers for the great service we got on Saturday for my daughter's glasses. I usually pay for that service elsewhere. Much appreciated.
To the short-sighted person who says they'll only stop driving in cycle lanes when cyclists pay registration. News flash - most cyclists are also drivers and so do pay rego. Plus they pay rates which also pays for roads. There's plenty of room for all if we're sensible and share. PSE
I think Simon Shaw needs to stop being so defensive when it comes to complaints about the state of the mental-health facility and start listening instead!
