Whose hospital?
So SDP thinks Hastings should charge Napier extra to use "their" hospital. "Your" hospital or "your" Alzheimer's? Still, not a bad idea, should be more than covered by the fees from "our" port and "our" airport. DBS
SDP you need to get your facts right. It's HB Hospital for all HB residents not just Hastings. And it's funded by govt, ie all taxpayers, not from Hastings rates.
Since when was it Hastings Hospital! Always thought it was HB Hospital! Obviously Napier doesn't have a hospital. Yeah right!
Mission Concert
Mission Concert Club isn't for the rich. I'm ordinary worker who joined to get advantage of first member tickets. You could have too, so don't moan! Anyone can belong, it's free.
Mission Concert tickets. It was easy to become a member at no cost. I joined the night before I got my tickets the next day. You just have to have a brain and look outside the square, and I'm not rich.
Costs nothing to be a Mission Concert Club member. Not all of us out to make money on tickets. If you're not fast you're last - build a bridge and get over it.
Other thoughts
Congratulations Ross McKelvie on a very clear and well argued letter about tenants purchasing their leasehold sections from HBRC. I hope the council notes the points you made.
Licence blitz: Pity they didn't ticket everyone. Some got tickets and some didn't. One boy got let off because his dad used to be a cop. Come on, one rule for everyone.
Good pier design for Napier foreshore, maybe useful for water taxi to Ahuriri?
What a joke! We live in a country that calls rugby players heroes yet snubs the real heroes, our brave soldiers; a country that changes its school terms to suit the World Cup timetable. And do we really need 30 players to field a 15 man team. So over it already, anyone know when the last game is?
Wake up people! The election is not a popularity contest. It's about people's lives. The govt is there to serve the people. Now ask yourselves who is it they serve.
I travel on the 7.30 bus from Napier to Hastings daily for my employment. We all know things are slow and laid back in HB. But people stand at a bus stop before the bus arrives and then decide to hunt in pockets or bags for cash etc when on the bus. Can people here not think 10 minutes ahead of themself and have this ready before the bus pulls into the stop. True with this factor it makes the bus late and myself late within my employment. Perhaps a notice on the buses would help to keep the buses on time and wake people up regarding the matter.
It is interesting that Honourable Gerry, without hesitation, doubled the rates of the Christchurch quake panel. I would have thought the panel, of which some have Queen's Honours, would have donated their time to the people of Christchrch. Chris Plummer, Hastings
