Cycle lanes
Drove down Wilson Rd cycle track, l understand but the dangerous curb? Who's going to pay for any damage caused by this?
Cycle lanes: Be thankful you have them, mind you the number of road runners using them day and night you are safer back weaving all over the
footpath.
Maybe we need to put down red carpet on the cycle lanes for Mr Anderson regarding letter to editor on Friday 6.5.2011. MS
With regards to Havelock cycle lanes: I've seen them swept, maybe the chap that's moaning should get a hand broom and do better, then I can moan at his dismal attempt. Second point as now it seems cycle lanes take up half the road they should pay a levy for maintenance like other users even if they own a car. It's a joke.
In reply to Brian Anderson's rant on cycle lanes cleaning on: Think it appropriate that pushbikes require registration from hence forth. This will fund lane cleaning. It is only appropriate that ShoveBikes attract the same ACC levy as their powered cousins! As they are just as unsafe on the roads from a percentage perspective! Chris Plummer, Hastings
Other thoughts

I am not an anti-smoker but I am a non-smoker, mother and pregnant woman. I take great offence every time I have to walk through the clouds of smoke made by both the public and staff members at the doorways of shops. My 2-year-old actually coughed after being dished out a lungful of smoke when we walked out of a shop recently. People, have a look around you and have some respect for others. Keep your dirty addictions to yourself.
Regarding the new bus stop at Taradale for the Napier to Hastings service. No not good on top of traffic lights for a bus pulling out into a flow of traffic. Why are bus stops put on intersections and near traffic lights? We have another bad spot for one. This one is in Kennedy Road on top of a school crossing. If a bus stops here a blind spot is caused for on-coming traffic to view the crossing. Napier City Council should look at safety aspects before putting bus stops in place.
Re Childcare on DPB by Mike Smith. I agree but also know of mothers who get free holiday programmes from 8 till 5 pm daily for older kids. Not bad daycare free and older kids not at home in holidays. As a working mum i have to stay home with mine and enjoy the time in holidays. Needs to be looked at!
Where was the economic gain from the last $30mil the Government gave Team NZ? Now another $36mil, wow, and they think $2mil for waka a ripoff? C'mon NZ!
Re Coast Watch mutilating snapper and returning to sea while people go hungry. Where are they getting fishing inspectors from? DWM
Fluoride, vaccines, vapour trails ... don't forget cell hone masts cause cancer. Anybody been abducted by aiens recently? Simon Shaw

Was Benji Marshall directing the haka at the Aussies or the camera?
How can the Salvation Army possibly afford to spend $4 million on a new building in Hastings? Were they able to get money out of the Government? Could they not find an existing building for much less than $4 million?
Waimarama and coast clean up: How about the court sending the PD lot out to clean up, and our young unemployment beneficiaries. Send them to help clean up, be faster, quicker and easier then looking for volunteers. C'mon HB!
To the person who texted regarding not needing vaccinations if you have "excellent hygiene and organic food": What an absolute joke, toddlers and excellent hygiene don't go together, and try telling that to the poor families who have lost their angel to meningitis. Get real. N Bryant
