Adrienne will be entering the 9-year-old in various classes at HOY next week including large show pony, riding pony, pony breeders, large paced and mannered show pony.
The ultimate goal is to win an open title but she knows competition will be fierce.
"[It] is really tough and there are a few coming this year from the South Island who I have never competed against".
A keen young rider, she also won Champion Newcomer Saddle Hunter Large Pony this year on 8-year-old gelding Brookfields Dream Dancer, whom she is entering in the HOY rising star saddle hunter classes as well as open large saddle hunter and riding class.
"He is easier to ride and just that little bit calmer."
Attending her first HOY in 2004 in the lead rein class she had found her stride by 2006 later winning an Open Lead Rein Rider of the Year crown. With just one more season left on ponies, there's added pressure to bring home another title.
Adrienne enjoys a little jumping at home but showing was her true passion, something she picked up from mum Jeanette who also used to compete.
It could be a juggle with school work and other commitments as most weekends were spent travelling between the Wairarapa and Waikato, so having HOY right on her doorstep was ideal.
"I love that everyone is there competing ... and then there is the shopping, and the overseas judges, it's just awesome to be at.
"Mum is amazing, I just couldn't do half of what I do without her."
This year will be a family affair as sister Maia, 7, tackles her final year of lead rein classes on Brookfields Royal Doulton.
