The second annual Top School competition hosted by Raureka School on Sunday was a great success, with all 23 participating schools using teamwork to complete set tasks and exercises.
"It's a good way of getting all of the children together for a fun event," Raureka School principal Greg Riceman said. "It was a fantastic day and it was lovely to see the children work together so well."
Each school sent along a group of 12 students with equal numbers of boys and girls.
All the children had to work as a team to carry out seven different events, involving teamwork, co-ordination and problem solving.
Everyone worked hard but in the end Raureka School won the primary class title and Heretaunga Intermediate walked away as the intermediate champions.
"All of the teams did really well, but it was the ones that really worked with one another that won in the end."
