Dannevirke police Senior Sergeant Paul Adrian has left behind policing for seven weeks to share his rugby coaching experience with players in the United Kingdom.
Mr Adrian, who has been the Manawatu under-16 representative coach for eight years, has been invited to share his knowledge with young players in clubs across the United Kingdom.
"It's a great opportunity for me and I'm looking forward to it," he told the Dannevirke News on the eve of his departure yesterday.
"Us Kiwis have rugby ingrained in us and the chance to coach other young players aged between 12 and 16 is something I wouldn't want to miss."
On his return to Dannevirke, Mr Adrian will continue to coach the Manawatu under-16 team and he's hopeful of being able to include some Dannevirke players in his squad.
