A full house was wowed by the emerging talents of EIT students last night, as they showcased the culmination of their year's work.

The is15 fashion show was part of a two-week cluster of other Ideaschool shows, which would finish this week.

Programme co-ordinator Cheryl Downie said the work on show last night was unpredictable.

"We encourage [students] to find their own design aesthetic and to develop that.

The work, shown by first and second fashion apparel students proved that, with a range of final designs reflecting their diverse influences ranging from African tribal cultures, 19th century Gothic fashion, to a students memories of loved ones.

Some looked forward, such as Rachel Hawkins' three-piece collection which began with an exploration of futuristic fashion.

Others were more fantastical. Amber Whitaker reinterpreted the classic fairytales Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood in her collection.

"I took the original concepts of the fairy tales and put a modern streetwear look to them", she said.

EIT students from a range of programmes helped with the event.
