The Latvian national who is facing charges relating to a stabbing incident on Saturday night has been remanded in custody until March 15.
Police had initially said the 23-year-old would appear in court this week, but they confirmed he had a bedside hearing yesterday, as he remained in hospital following the incident.
Leo Lafferty was assigned to be counsel for the man who has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The maximum penalty for this type of charge is 14 years' imprisonment.
The charges relate to an alleged stabbing incident at 8.30pm on Saturday night at a Flaxmere address. The man also received injuries.
Two women were taken to hospital with injuries. They had both since been discharged.
