Demanser is the son of Paul Demanser, one of the most experienced Hawke's Bay Hawkeyes superstock team drivers who raced in 15 Palmerston North Teams Champs before taking on coaching roles with both the Hawkeyes and Meeanee Maulers stockcar team.
"Dad gives me plenty of advice," Demanser said.
"Some of it is unwanted but its good to take a lot of it on board."
He agreed he could become a target during the next two rounds in the championship.
"Depending on points that could happen in the last round. But in this sport you have to expect it any time."
Eleven drivers tackled the round and third place went to another host club driver, Matt Titter, who is in his first full season in the class.
Brett Loveridge captured the Dave Foxall Memorial Trophy and his Hawke's Bay clubmate Jason Penn the John Coker Memorial Trophy during racing in the 21-strong stockcar class. Penn's nephew, Regan Penn, won all three heats in the ministock class which attracted 15 starters.
The highlight in the six-crew sidecar class was Hawke's Bay husband-and-wife pair Kim and Kerry Johnston's outside passing move on the way to securing the chequered flag in their third heat.
Four Melling brothers were among the starters in a nine-strong streetstock class and two of the heats ended in Melling trifectas. Darren, Shayne and Daniel were first, second and third respectively in the first heat and the third saw Darren, Wayne and Daniel fill the top three berths.
Hawke's Bay's Grant Flynn won two of the three heats in a six-strong Super Saloon class. His brother, 3NZ Steve Flynn, won the other.
A spectacular 11-minute fireworks display ended the meeting.
