After weeks of anticipation, more than 200 people enjoyed an evening of luxury, opulence, fun, and surprise at Sparkle 2016, while contributing to a charitable cause.
Held at Church Road Winery on Saturday night, the sold-out event was hosted by Presbyterian Support East Coast (PSEC) with help from more than 100 sponsors to support Enliven, a service that helps older people remain independent in their own homes.
At a venue that reflected "the splendour of the Palace of Versailles", guests enjoyed exquisitely presented food created by four of the Bay's top chefs, served with award-winning Church Road wines, showcasing the best of Hawke's Bay to visitors to the region.
Guests took to the dance floor before dinner was finished to enjoy the musical stylings of Jon Fletcher and were surprised later in the evening by an act from the BeatGirls.
Back by popular demand was drag artiste extraordinaire Buckwheat, dressed in attire described as "lavishly over-the-top", who also entertained guests with a "larger than life" stilt performance.
