It's time to bust out the board games and crank up the clothes drier as Hawke's Bay heads into a wet week for the first half of the school holidays.
MetService meteorologist Claire Flynn said each day would be the same as the previous - periods of rain, heavier in the ranges, and highs in the mid-teens.
Normally this time of year the region receives dry westerlies but easterly winds will continue for much of the week, bringing periods of rain and showers.
"At this stage it looks like you are not going to get particularly heavy rain," she said.
By Thursday the rain periods should ease but Friday will still see a few showers.
"This week the wind is coming directly onshore. If there is a little weather feature coming through (a trough or front) it will enhance the rain a little more."
