"We are really excited about coming. We don't come there that often and this will be the first time playing the Black Barn Vineyards in a beautiful location. Come down. Tell your friends and family. We appreciate all the support over the years. Let's get together and celebrate together."
"If they haven't seen SIX60 play before it's very much an inclusive show. There's very much a sense of being together and we like to push that in our shows and make everyone feel comfortable and welcome."
The singer said they brought a lot of energy to the stage and it was "basically like one big sing-a-long."
Having recently released a six song EP, including single 'Don't Give Up", they are keen to play the new hits, along with some classics.
"The new songs went down really well overseas and we're excited to bring them to our home audience, as well as play the favourites."
"It was quite interesting being away while the music was being released back here. From what I gather the reaction and radio play has been great."
Back in 2008, SIX60 was formed in Dunedin, where the founding members met while attending the University of Otago - and it was then that their love of touring and playing blossomed.
"We love touring. We started exclusively as a live band. That's how we got together playing in Dunedin at pubs and flats, so its nothing too hard or strenuous on us."
Speaking of the European tour, Walters said it was "pretty awesome to get back on the road and tackle some new territories that we haven't been before" - including Scandinavia which they enjoyed.
"We were hitting negatives at some point and just cause we were there so long, I became climatised and now it's scorching hot."
With their latest song, 'Up There' only released last week, they plan to have a short-lived break before their "impatient" performers plan their next move.
"We don't really know what the next move is. We know that we want to continue push ourselves and become better in our own live. Whether that means it's going to be another album or an EP and when that happens I don't know.
In the future, they hope to be based in the country, but were "bouncing around quite a bit, with playing live and recording."
"It seems to be where we can be at our best really creatively and be kinda piece of mind and be happiest."
With a raft of music, albums and EP's to their name, the singer can't choose a favourite.
"I appreciate and respect all the project we've done for different reasons. They represent where we were as a group and how we were as people at that particular time.
"I guess as a collection of work, I'm proud of how each work has changed, evolved and developed from each one."
Their musical influences stem from all facets of their life.
"There are so many and they constantly change. And it's not always music too. I think the things we are most influenced by is probably just like our limits and the unknown."
"We strongly believe that there is a journey in music. It is a journey of self-discovery. It is something you have to put forward for people to understand and for it to feel real."
"The dynamic is just five guys really trying to move together in one direction for the better of this thing that is music," he said.
Aside from singing, Walters plans to relax up North with family and friends during the festive season.
Prior to shows, the best friends liked to be together.
Most bizarre of all was their joint love of listening to "really bad country music" before hitting the stage.
At the heart of it all, is the ability to create music at its most purest and raw form - no prescriptions, nothing in mind - simply music to be presented and digested.
"You know we focus so much on just trying to be present and being in the moment. I guess I would like to think that we were a bunch of really close friends that were really passionate about what we did and that we worked hard to make sure that that really came through."
"We were lucky to have found music and we went for it and we were unapologetic and we took all the risks and we really did what we could to live a passionate life and we were nice people at the end of it."
Tickets go on sale at midday on Thursday 7 December via Ticketmaster and the venue.
