Hawke's Bay is just one of many regions to endure dull drizzle for the rest of the week.
Residents should keep their eyes to the skies and have an umbrella handy as the Metservice has predicted thunderstorms, localised downpours and possible hail today.
The mixed bag of weather was the result of a low-pressure system which moved in from the Tasman Sea on Tuesday producing showery conditions and periods of rain until Thursday.
"We've got some warm and humid air right down to surface level," says meteorologist Angus Hines.
"Higher up in the atmosphere it's a little cooler, so we don't have those warm temperatures the whole way as we go up the atmosphere.
