3. Windsor Park Plate, Hawke's Bay Racecourse
The Group 1 Windsor Park Plate is regarded as one of the pivotal races on the spring calendar, ahead of the Livamol Classic on October 7. There is space for you to set up a picnic and if you want a comfy seat inside or access to the members' stand viewing balconies, you can buy a members' stand pass. 4. Colliers Rural Spring Ride, Russell Park, Waipukurau
Come and ride the Tukituki Trail and have some fun at Russell Park, with the Colliers Rural team tomorrow from 11am. Registration will get people a new Spring Ride drink bottle and a sausage from the barbecue. There will be bouncy castles, music, spot prizes and Espresso Man coffee on site, too. 5. Friends of A'Deane's Bush Annual Community Planting Day
Join the Friends of A'Deane's Bush, The Conservation Company and the Department of Conservation for the Annual Community Planting Day to plant trees at A'Deane's Bush, Makaretu Rd, Central Hawke's Bay. This year is the celebration of 10 years of the Friends of A'Deane's Bush. The event is part of Conservation Week 2017 - conservationweek.org.nz. The day begins at 9.30am tomorrow and will finish at 12.30pm with a free sausage sizzle and celebration. On completion of the Planting Day people can go for an easy stroll along the track through A'Deane's Bush, a 38ha lowland forest, and discover the secrets of this awesome little reserve.
6. The Ryman Healthcare Season of Romeo and Juliet, Napier Municipal Theatre
Artistic director and choreographer Francesco Ventriglia creates a new version of the world's greatest love story, especially for the Royal New Zealand Ballet: the company's first new production of Romeo and Juliet since 2003, inspired by Franco Zeffirelli's classic 1968 film with Prokofiev's instantly recognisable score. This will be a hot-blooded, passionate retelling of Shakespeare's play that is sure to resonate with lovers of dance, drama and pure romance. The ballet begins tomorrow at 7.30pm and tickets are available through Ticketek.
7. Room With a View, Eskdale School
Eskdale School PTA invites people to Room With a View, where there will be a day of fun and indulgence visiting a room or two in some beautiful homes throughout their community. Sponsored by Sam Hutchinson of Harcourts, you can take a drive, grab a picnic lunch and enjoy a Room with a View. The day begins tomorrow at 9am and wraps up at 5pm.
