A Hato Hone St John spokeswoman said one ambulance, one rapid response unit, one manager and one helicopter responded to the incident and one person was transported to Hawke’s Bay hospital in a serious condition.
A Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, Hawke’s Bay spokeswoman said a man in aged his 70s was still being assessed in hospital as of midday.
Meanwhile, a man in his 20s remained in a critical condition in hospital on Thursday after a motorcycle crash on Saturday.
The crash happened about 12.30pm on Evenden Rd, near the intersection with Ormond Rd in Tomoana.
A Hato Hone spokesperson said one person was transported to Wairoa hospital in a moderate condition after a crash on State Highway 38, near Frasertown in the Wairoa District, on Thursday.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said fire services were called to attend a motor vehicle incident on the state highway near Frasertown about 1.10am, but were stood down shortly after.
