Highway repair and resealing programmes currently under way across stretches of SH2 south between Hastings and Dannevirke and SH50 through to Takapau will lead to minor delays for motorists.
Contractors are carrying out resealing work at sites between Paki Paki and Takapau on SH2 and between Glencoe and Takapau on SH50, while repair crews are working on SH2 at Waipawa and at Kereru Rd on SH50.
Temporary speed restrictions will be in place along with stop-go signalling and motorists can expect travel delays up to five minutes.
On SH2 north of Napier roadmarking is being carried out and while a New Zealand Transport Agency spokesman said travel impact times would be negligible drivers were being asked to drive cautiously through the work areas as road-marking vehicles would be operating.
The NZTA has also repeated its advice for drivers used to travelling on the Hawke's Bay Expressway between Napier and Hastings to consider alternative routes.
