A builder for Davcon Ltd, Bradey, will call it quits at the end of the season.
"It's time to look at other things in my life. I can't keep chasing a ball ... having children is the next step."
The holder of four Maddison Trophy winner's medals, two of them as captain, Bradey, agreed a fifth would be the ideal send off.
"I would be happy more for the entire team. I'm not one for personal stuff but to get another medal in the same season as my 150th would be an extra bonus."
A former New Zealand Sevens training squad member, Bradey, said although he has tasted Nash Cup glory on four occasions the villagers always pride themselves on making the semifinals of the Maddison Trophy, a feat they have managed during 22 of the last 24 years.
"We do what we have to do to get there. We've had some ugly losses this season but we learn each and every week. We take the good from wins and with the negative stuff we fine tune it and turn it into a positive."
Bradey ranked the 2012 Havelock North team as the best he has played in. That year the villagers won the Hawke's Bay Sevens, Nash Cup and Maddison Trophy.
"Our 2006 team was one of the better ones as Danny Lee was home. But the Magpies were pulled out at the business end and we lost to Taradale in the Maddison final."
Bradey singled out former Hastings Rugby and Sports captain Tivaini Fomai as the toughest player he marked in club play.
"Karl Lowe was the top dog. Tivaini and I were battling to be his deputy and we had similar skill sets."
Bradey is thrilled with the support he has received from his Dannevirke-based parents Mike and Debra over the years.
"Since my school days they have only missed a couple of Magpies games which they were able to watch on television. It's easier on them now with Ethan and I in the same team together."
Although Clive sit seventh on the points table Bradey said today's game will be tough.
"Clive are a proud club. They will want to end their season on a high and for them upsetting us and preventing us from playing in the semifinals will be rewarding. Winning is our main goal and it won't matter if it is by one or four points we will have a semifinal."
Bradey's milestone should be enough to propel the villagers to an 11-point win. Ansin & Monteith Hastings Rugby and Sports will be attempting to bank five competition points from their Bill Mathewson Park encounter, a game they should win by 13, in case the villagers stumble.
HBI Insurances Napier Old Boys Marist should beat Taradale by nine in their top-of-the-table clash at Carters Arms Park. In other games Tech Group of Companies Napier Technical should beat MAC by 10 at Flaxmere Park and defending champions Tanalised Napier Pirate Rugby and Sports have the ammunition to beat Northfuels Central by 11 at Waipukurau's Central Park.
Should MAC and Tamatea remain equal on points at the bottom of the table after today's round, Tamatea will play in the promotion-relegation match if it is played as MAC pipped them during round robin play. The promotion-relegation match will only be played if Eskview beat Otane in today's division two final at Otane as Otane have declined the opportunity to play.
